As part of the EnCOmpass GHPOD II project, I designed and facilitated a week-long digital storytelling workshop for USAID missions across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Cambodia. The workshop began with participants learning key storytelling techniques, including how to develop a compelling narrative, prepare for on-site audio and video capture, and collaborate on managing production. We then traveled to a project site where participants filmed interviews, took photos, and recorded audio. Locations included hospitals, rehabilitation centers, mother support groups, schools, and the homes of families. The final phase took place back at the USAID mission, where we guided participants in reviewing and selecting footage, timestamping it for video editing, and crafting a narrative to complement their media. The workshop concluded with a screening session, where mission staff were invited to view the finished digital stories.
EnCompass designed and delivered the Talk Like TED course for USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. Over five years, I had the privilege of designing and facilitating this course both virtually and in-person for the GHPOD II project in Washington, D.C., as well as for USAID missions in Thailand, Cambodia, and Bangladesh.
This course equips participants with the tools to craft presentations that are emotionally engaging, memorable, and impactful. Throughout two interactive sessions, participants learn how to structure their presentations, develop a compelling narrative, and use visuals and data effectively. They engage in storyboarding, receive peer feedback, and practice using their voice and body language for dynamic delivery. The workshop culminates in a final presentation, where participants present their work, receive constructive feedback, and leave with a recording of their presentation for further self-reflection and continuous improvement.
EnCompass designed and delivered the Leadership at All Levels course for USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. This immersive, week-long leadership program was built around the Leadership Practices Inventory, emphasizing five core leadership principles: modeling the way, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, enabling others to act, and encouraging the heart.
Through this leadership framework, participants explored key topics such as emotional intelligence, growth mindset, effective feedback, and conflict management. As a course designer and facilitator, I co-developed the curriculum, led engaging sessions, and created supplemental learning resources to reinforce participants’ growth beyond the program. I facilitated this course in Thailand, South Africa, Nigeria, and Washington, D.C.
